Dewitt, John H. Jr. RENSSELAER John H. DeWitt, Jr. age, 89, of Rensselaer, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. He was born in East Green bush and lived most of his life in Rensselaer. Mr. DeWitt was employed as a diesel mechanic for Dorn Transportation, working for Dorn for approximately 30 years. John was a proud US Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. DeWitt and his wife enjoyed fishing in Florida. Husband of 44 years to Georgianna Taylor DeWitt of Rensselaer; father of John H. (Christine) DeWitt III of Loudonville, Kenneth W. (Linda) DeWitt of Albany and the late Dorothy Levine and Anita Rose Forsha. Also survived by a son-in-law, Michael Levine; a sister; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, Friday morning at 10:30. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Friday prior to the service from 9-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
