The Knickerbocker House on Louise Street was my "home away from home" during my growing up years in Delmar...and Mrs. Knickerbocker was the "heart" of that home. Her Obituary said it all. What a special lady! I remember the salmon-colored Nash car she drove us around in; she taught me how to play canasta and other card games; the bologna, pickels and catsup sandwiches, and the "Scotch Bars" that she made (she shared her recipe w/ me, but mine never tasted as good). I remember when she would attend her high school reunions in Wisconsin and bring back the class photo -- Kim and I would marvel that she was so young-looking that she looked like the daughter of her classmates! The entire Knickerbocker Family was awesome and played such a wonderful part in my happy childhood. What a long and wonderful life. Condolences to Brad, Kim and Danny and thank you Mrs. Knickerbocker for the special memories! Linda Logan Bird

Your Mom and my "favorite" aunt never failed to keep in touch . I have already missed here note in my birthday card. She always wrote about you three kids, grand children, and her hand writing never changed over the years, My heart goes out to you three in your grief, I have some pictures you might be interested in viewing, I had planned to send them to your Mom, Take care. You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers,
good times

Dear Dan, Kim and Brad,
I really don't know what to say. Every time I visited with your mom was a joy. She always surprised me, but in retrospect, I don't know why. I should've expected the unexpected. She was so smart and funny -characteristics which she passed to her children. She is certainly an inspiration in the way she led her life. I will miss her. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.

Dear Brad, Kim and Dan....I saw your mother in December when I did a presentation at Beverwyck...She looked great and was so delighted that I remembered her...She was so proud of her motor scooter that you had given her on her 100th birthday...She was so positive, enthusiastic and charming as was your dad when I'd see them on various occasions.....I hope remembering the happy times you spent together will comfort you at this time...

Kim, Brad and Dan, your obituary described your mom perfectly; we all loved to go to your house. Then when my family moved right across the street from her on McGuffey, she was the same welcoming neighbor to my kids. When I last saw her a few years ago, she was still able to drive and still had no grey hair! Amazing woman!

Mrs Knickerbocker was an exceptional woman who had a truly positive influence on her community and her many friends. She gave aid and comfort to my mother when she needed it most and will be long remembered for her kindness to so many.
Our heartfelt condolences to Brad, Kim, Daniel and the entire family.
