Girard, Beatrice T. (Lagasse) TROY Beatrice T. Lagasse (Rock) Girard, 86, formerly of Troy and Cohoes, died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Wesley Health Care Facility in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. embraced by her loving family. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Honore and Leone Gendron Lagasse and beloved wife of the late Edgar Rock and William P. Girard. Bea was a life long area resident and was educated in the former St. Marie's and St. Joseph's schools. She owned and operated with her husband Edgar, Rocky's Tavern in Cohoes. Bea was also employed at the Eddy Ford Nursing Home in Cohoes as a nurse's aide and was a salesperson with Leggs, Haines Valie in Cohoes. She was a member of the Silver Tops and the Cohoes Senior Citizens. Bea was dedicated to her home and family. She treasured her family's abundant love; they were the focus of her life. Bea loved life to its fullest, she enjoyed singing, dancing, laughing and always appreciated a good time. She will be truly missed by all. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Karen (William) Gilligan Sr. of Troy; loving stepdaughter, Mary Jane (Tony) Ciccarelli of Wynantskill; grandchildren, Arthur and Michael Ballard, Kristin Maloney and William (Pam) Gilligan Jr.; step-grandchildren, Christina (Timothy) Kellar, Stephanie (Eric) Masher and Antoinette Hulsopple; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Rita Genest and brothers, Honore, Donald and Robert Lagasse. Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd., 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes, N.Y. Tuesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial from Transfiguration Parish, Speigletown, formerly known as St. Bonaventure at 10. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 p.m. Bea's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the three Victoria staff at Wesley for all their love, tender care and support extended to Bea while she was in their care.
