Caruso, Elizabeth A. WATERFORD Elizabeth A. Caruso, 81, formerly of Columbus Avenue, died Monday September 16, 2013 at Eddy Village Green in Cohoes. Born in Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Ephriam and Elizabeth Collett Chouiniere. She was a 1950 graduate of Keveny Memorial Academy in Cohoes. Betty was a long time employee at the former Grand Union Store in Waterford where she was a welcoming presence to all the regular patrons whom she knew on a first name basis. More recently she was employed at the NYS Department of Tax and Finance in Albany from which she retired in 2001. Betty was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed every minute spent with them. She was a bingo enthusiast, enjoyed watching TV and afternoons spent with her friends. She was the widow of Vincent M. Caruso, who died in 2010. She is the devoted mother of Laura A. Elliott (Doug) of Monclova, Ohio, Daniel V. Caruso (Marianne) of Clifton Park, Matthew T. Caruso of Milford, Mass., Ann Marie Murray of Mechanicville and the late Joseph M. Caruso. She was sister of the late Charles and William Chouiniere; also surviving are 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Thursday morning at 8:15 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rt.32), Waterford and at 9 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, Cohoes.
