Morelli, Anthony COLONIE Anthony W. Morelli (Tony) passed away peacefully Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in 1919, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Theresa Morelli. He was predeceased by his cherished wife, Marie C. Almendo Morelli. He worked 17 years for the N.Y. Central Railroad in the storage department. When the West Albany shops closed, he went to barber school and was a barber until he retired at the age of 70. He owned his own shop first in Glenmont and then in Selkirk. His favorite hobby was gardening. Tony was the beloved father of Theresa Morelli; brother of the late Nicholas (Connie) and Lawrence (Carmela) Morrell, Stephen Morelli, Antoinette Picozzi (Eugene) and Ann Cerone Smith (Frank Cerone and Chet Smith); brother-in-law of Robert Kurtzner (late Angie) and Arthur Jodoin (late Lucy); brother-in-law of the late Michael Almendo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Thank you to the emergency staff, ICU, 6th floor nursing group and hospice at Albany Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care and nurturing of both Tony and his family. Funeral services Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen St., Albany thence to Christ our Light Catholic Church, Loudonville at 10 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will follow the Mass in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
