Nazarian, Andrew LATHAM Andrew Nazarian, 87, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Mercy Life Center in Guilderland. Born in Watervliet on January 15, 1926, he was the son of the late Agajan and Virkina Tabakian Nazarian. Mr. Nazarian was a graduate of Watervliet High School and served with the US Marines. He operated several service stations early in his career. For over 30 years, he was a horse trainer, a job that he loved, at the Saratoga Raceway where he operated Nazarian's Stable before retiring in 1975 due to a back injury. In 1972, he was named Trainer of the Year. He was a member of the Zaloga VFW Post in Albany and was a member of St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church in Watervliet. He was the beloved husband of the late Nettie Zennaiter Nazarian, who died in 1999; loving father of Andrew (Dianna) Nazarian Jr. of Latham and John (Patricia) Nazarian of Stillwater; proud grandfather of Andrew, Armen (JoAnn) Nazarian and Amy (Benjamin) Roberts, Matthew and James Nazarian; great- grandfather of Kelsey Nazarian and Alexis Hoppins; brother of John (Sonya) Nazarian of Stillwater, Dorothy (late Charlie) Giunta of Latham, Marian (Alex) Arghanian and Lucy (late George) Krikorian, both of Watervliet and Gregory (Marjorie) Nazarian of Loudonville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Bowen & Parker Bros. Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Stepanos Doudoukjian officiating. Interment will follow in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. followed by the wake service at 6 p.m. A special thanks to all the staff at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center for their kind and compassionate care given during Andrew's stay there. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church, PO Box 196, Watervliet, NY 12189. Condolence book at
