Palmer, Elsie R. MECHANICVILLE Elsie R. Palmer,85, passed into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Carolina Laurenzo; and siblings, Fred and Dominick Laurenzo, Connie Carota, Irene Collins, Marian Laurenzo, Helen Marinello; and two infant sisters. Elsie was a graduate of Mechanicville High School and Albany Business College. After starting a family, she returned to the workforce and was employed for over 25 years by Tagsons Paper Co. in Mechanicville as an executive secretary. She read her Bible daily and lived her faith. She loved her God, her husband, and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed cooking, reading, music, and traveling. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Louis Palmer; children, Linda (Rev. James) Harrington, Judy (Jack) Ceremuga, and Gary (Celia) Palmer, Phd.; siblings, Edith Hathaway, Abraham Laurenzo, Sarah Borgese, and Mary Capuano; grandchildren, Scott (Rebecca) Ceremuga, Amy (Erik) Smith, Alicia (Mike) Willis, Craig Ceremuga, Ilissa Palmer, and Christian Palmer. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of 3 Hathorn at Wesley for their wonderful and loving care of Elsie. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral service Friday at 10 a.m. at Northway Bible Chapel (Moe Road and corner of Par Del Rio Roads) in Clifton Park. Burial will be in Hudson View Cemetery in Mechanicville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hochstein School of Music and Dance, 50 Plymouth Ave No., Rochester, NY 14614, or the Northway Bible Chapel.
