Ernest H. Kahn

Kahn, Ernest H. NISKAYUNA Ernest H. Kahn, age 87, of Niskayuna, died on Monday morning, April 6, 2015, at his residence. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Mr. Kahn has resided in the Capital District since 1941. Ernest was an engineer with General Electric for many years. He was a longtime member of Congregation Gates of Heaven, the Schenectady Jewish Community Center and was very active with the Jewish Federation of NENY. Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gloria Kofsky Kahn, and two children, Ronald Kahn and his wife Julia Rowe of San Francisco, and Susanne Bronstein and her husband Stephen of Ashland, Mass. He is the cherished grandfather of Max and Eli Kahn, Katie Sierchio, Sam and Sophie Bronstein. Services at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Ave., Schenectady, on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Schenectady. The period of mourning will be observed on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at Congregation Gates of Heaven.
