Charles J. Mattick

Mattick, Charles J. ALCOVE, N.Y. Charles J. Mattick, 75, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Albany, the son of the late Augustus and Sarah Mattick and had lived in Ravena and Hannacroix. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from the family owned business, Greenville Packing House, after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and bird watching. Survivors include his wife, Joyce A. (Colvin) Mattick; daughter, Brenda L. (George) Peters; brother, Robert Mattick; sister, Beverly (William) Figel; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine companion, Emma. Charles was predeceased by his brothers, Augustus Mattick and George (Sue) Mattick. The family would like to thank the second floor staff at Columbia Memorial Hospital for the special care they gave Charles and his family. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena.
