Nancy, Amy, Laura and all of Arthur's many, many loved ones: I was truly saddened to hear of Arthurs passing. I can only imagine how difficult this must be. I have been thinking a great deal about all of you these past weeks and my heart reaches out to each of you.
Through NO fault of his, Arthur and my relationship got off to a rocky start some 35 years ago. Simply put, I was a wild, immature teenager who made some poor choices. Yet curiously, even then, I very much wanted Arthur's respect and approval. Arthur built a life and carried himself in such a way that even a naïve and mischievous teenager couldn't help but to be in awe of. Of course, for many years, we didn't see one another. Then by chance about 10 years ago, Arthur and I ran into each other at a Bagel shop in Albany. I had grown up and I was no longer that insufferable teenager. Arthur was Arthur. But he was so kind and generous of spirit toward me that day. I will never forget it. I was walking on air all week after that meeting. I like to believe that in some small way I had gained his acceptance. And even though we were not involved in one another's lives, this acceptance meant such a great deal to me. In my thinking, that underscores the power of a great man. And Arthur truly was a great man.
Virtuous, accomplished and ambitious. Yet always, first and foremost - a family man. What an inspiration. How sad that he is gone, but how lucky you all are to have had him in your lives for so many years. With Love and Kind thoughts, Stephen D

I was very saddened to hear of Commissiiber Roths sudden passing. I hope heaven is ready for someone to Take charge of a project because all that he did for the families of the employees who died in the World Trade Center will never be forgotten. I worked very close with him during this time and he genuinely cared and did everything in his power to make sure these families got what they were entitled to. Nancy we met once at the surgeons office and Commissioner sat with me to calm me as no one was with me and I will never ever forget that. He was a good man and loved you and his family very dearly no doubt
