SUE COWART Obituary

COWART Mrs. Sue Carole Biddy Cowart, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 8, 2013, after a brief illness. She was born on April 5, 1940 in Macon, Georgia, and grew up in Tifton, Georgia. She graduated from Georgia Southern University, with a degree in education, and did many things in her life. She taught high school English in Georgia and Florida, but the happiest career path was probably the years she owned The Heritage Gallery, a gift shop in Chattahoochee, Florida. She retired from the Florida Department of Education and was enjoying her golden years in Jacksonville surrounded by friends and family. She was known for her big brown eyes and dazzling smile, and had such a powerful influence on everyone she touched, from the students she taught through the years, to the friends she so faithfully served and loved, to her two granddaughters that were the joy of her life. She had a mischievous streak, a wicked sense of humor, and her laugh was contagious. She was a member of Jacksonville First Baptist Church and Terry Davidson's Sunday School class. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Madge Biddy. She will be remembered by her best friend and loving husband of 52 years, David Cowart; her daughter, Leisha Cowart; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Judi Cowart; and granddaughters Masey and Kendall Cowart, who knew her as their MeMe; and a brother, Joe Biddy. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Thursday, April 11 at Hardage-Giddens The Oaklawn Chapel 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville FL 32207 A Celebration of her life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 12 at First Baptist Church Jacksonville s Hobson Auditorium 124 W Ashley St. Jacksonville FL. 32202 with Pastor John Blount officiating. Followed by committal ceremonies in Oaklawn Cemetery HARDAGE-GIDDENS, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Blvd is serving the family. Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com

David, Leisha & Michael I was so sorry to get the call from Daddy this morning about Carole. Her picture here looks exactly like she did over 35 years ago in Chattahoochee. Andy is right....the memories start to flow..... I can remember spending many, many days with Leisha playing at your house in the woods. I am truly blessed to have been able to share time with your family.

I don't even know where to start....Ms Carole was a HUGE part of my growing up years! Never once do I remember her turning any of her kids friends away! I played at her warm home, shopped and visited at her store and loved being around this precious lady. My heart goes out to Mr Dav-O , Leisha and Michael.....the days will be hard ahead, but the memories will keep you going. So many loved her, I loved her and I love you all. God bless you especially at this difficult time and wrap his loving arms around you all!! Can you just imagine the welcome she received into Glory Land??? I'll bet she is singing with the best of 'em! I am so sorry for your loss!!

First....To the family I am so sorry for your loss. David, Leisha and Michael; You were Loved by a great wife and Mother.
Wow! The memories start to flow
and certainly they are very special times.
Chattahoochee was my home during my early teens.Carol was absolutely in her "favorite place" in her shop.
On my desk is the pen and pencil set She and David gave me for graduation.
I will always remember her warm smile, brilliant eyes, genuine heart and sweet sprit.
The last time I saw her she and David welcomed us at the mountain home front door that july evening. My mother, Myrtle Jones insisted we visit as we were in the area. I am so glad we did. That was a very special trip with my mom and dad, my wife and daughters,and our brand new son Drew.
God's Peace and comfort to each of you.
Prayerfully and thoughtfully;
Andy and Rebecca Jones, Aubrey , Allison and Andrew Harris Jones.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Asking God to surround you with the comfort that only He can. She is at the feet of her Lord and Savior and the sights she has seen no words can describe.
