HILL Mr. Virgil E. Bones Hill, 87, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Mr. Hill, a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church, was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and had retired from Velda Farms Southland Corporation. He was predeceased by a son, Gerry Nassau and 2 sisters, Ruby Bryant and Norma Moe. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Barbara Hill; a daughter, Susie Chapman; 1 sister, Mae Erickson; 2 granddaughters, Ashley Nassau and Danielle (Gus) Nahabetian; 1 great granddaughter, Zoe; and many other loving family & friends. Bones loved the Lord, his wife, family and his golf. Graveside Services, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 20, at Jacksonville National Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Rigdon officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in his memory to the Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257. As cliche as this sounds, you were truly one in a million. I can't put into words how much you mean to me. They don't make men like you anymore!! You were so genuine, honest, and caring. I can only hope to be half the person you were. I miss you more everyday!!!
