Ms. Roberts was gracious lady and a fine teacher. She inspired many and was often the motivation for others. She led by example and set the standard for others to follow. A true inspiration.

Art, I am thinking of you and your family with sadness and thanksgiving for having known your mother when I was a student at Bells HS. She was an absolute inspiration to me. I can still hear her high-heeled shoes coming down the hall.....tiny little thing that she was---but totally in control with life and inspiration to help us students to go for the gusto of life! She guided me through the yearbook production my senior year as editor at Bells. I could have not asked for a more inspiring teacher in my high school years. I have not had any contact with her since graduation in 1960----yet, feel the most heart-felt love after all these years. Blessings to you and all your loved ones at this sad time.

I am so sorry for your loss, Art. Your mother taught me at Christian Academy. She was a great teacher and a great person to know. I do remember a few times when my mother, Ann Lucas, would make refreshments for Mrs. Roberts' Bridge game. She did enjoy her Bridge. She not only taught us Science, but she always had time to share stories of her life. A few of them contained humorous moments about you. God bless you and your family. Take care and be well.
Sincerely, Charlotte Lucas - Manning Christian Academy, class of 1981

I'm so sorry to hear of Ms. Dot's passing. She was a wonderful teacher. Maybe others will also remember that one day we pulled all of our desks out of the rows and moved them right up against her desk all gathered around. When she came in the room, she just started teaching without making us move back. She was delightful!

Dot was a member of the Senior Adult group at Christ's Church, and was always so pleasant to be around. I will miss her lovely demeanor, and know she is where we all want to be.

Dear Art and Family,
So sorry to hear of Dot's passing. Harold and I sure have missed her coming to the office these past several years. It was so good to see her at Richardene's funeral, although a sad occasion. She looked very well and vibrant. She was quite a lady! Reminded me that she was the last cousin. Daddy talked about her and Cecil often and, of course, Uncle Charlie and Aunt Eugenia. I remember going down to Islandton with Daddy to their store many times. I think that Uncle Charlie and Uncle Caleb were Daddy's favorite uncles. I'm sure that he was probably doted on by his aunts, uncles, and cousins! Well.......I sure do miss all of those cousins and their stories, only wish I had asked more questions! If ya'll pass through Walterboro, please stop and say hello.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family........
Sincerely,
Andrea Whatley (A.J. Ulmer's daughter)

Gram, you are the best mother-in-law anyone could have had. You were a second mother to me. I treasured you everyday. And always will. Thank you for all of the support you provided us over the years and always "being there". You will be missed very much. I know you were ready to go to your eternal home. Over the years, but especially over the past 6 years, our bond had gotten stronger. All of the memories over the many years will always be close to my heart and never forgotten. You were a strong, vibrant, sweet Christian southern lady and I have always respected you. I love you, Gram.
