Albert Bevon PIERCE(1923 - 2013)

PIERCE Albert Bevon Pierce, December 2, 1923 - December 4, 2013. Albert Pierce, 90 years plus 2 days, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, respected friend of many, man after God s own heart and faithful servant of Jesus Christ in His Church, went to sleep in his recliner on Wednesday morning, Dec. 4, 2013 and woke up in the arms of Jesus. Al is a WWII veteran, served in the US Navy as ship s cook on LST 350 and others, ferrying troops during the European campaign. He is predeceased by his one and only sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Martha Grace (New) Pierce, and his only son, Albert Wayne Pierce. He is survived by 4 daughters: Elaine Yates (John Stanley), Patsy Hampton (Rod), Sandra Carnal (Clint), and Gaylan Byers (Ray). He leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. To know him was to love him. Funeral services will be held on Sunday Dec 8, 2013 at 2:00pm in Rocky Creek Baptist Church, Lyons GA, with Rev. Ray Mayfield and Rev. Bill Black officiating followed by interment in Pinecrest Cemetery, Vidalia GA. Family will receive visitors Saturday, from 6:00- 8:00 pm at Ronald V Hall Funeral Home, Vidalia GA (912) 537-7877.
