ALICE ARMSTRONG

ARMSTRONG Mrs. Alice Mason Armstrong, age 105, passed away peacefully June 24, 2012 in a local hospital. She was a native of Monticello, MS, having resided in Jacksonville most of her life. Mrs. Armstrong was a member at Second Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on District # 13, under the leadership of Rev. Odell Smith, Jr. She was a self-employed Cosmetologist until she retired after 40 years of dedicated service. Survivors include her daughter, Ms. Verletta Williams; grandchildren, Mrs. LaTangie Montgomery (Leslie), Mrs. Zabrina Meadows (Ortland, Jr.) and Quinchette Williams (Sheena); 12 great grandchildren; Elizabeth, Leslie K., Paul, Jamiel, Mariama, Lloyd, Ted, Kingston and Quean; great-great grand daughter, Bella; a very devoted nephew, Frederick Bolling( Edith); a number of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM, Saturday, June 30, 2012 in the Rufus E. Payne Memorial, Chapel of the mortuary, with Rev. Will H. Simmons, officiating. Interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
