Aza Courson

COURSON Aza Courson, 88, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Mr. Courson was a native of Bickley, Georgia, a longtime resident of Jacksonville and more recently Callahan. Aza was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a sergeant in WWII. He had retired from Southern Bell. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Pruett and Lynn Derrick; three sons, Wayne Courson (Brenda, David Courson and Coy Jurell Courson; two sisters, Miriam (George) Krain and Betty Douglas (J.D.); one brother, Edford Courson (Nell); 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 1, at Grace Baptist Church, with Dr. Lynn Massey officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery near Douglas, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour to the service at Grace Baptist Church, 13290 Ranch Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
