DONALD LASH

LASH Donald B. Lash passed away on May 11, 2013 at the age of 77. Don was a 32 year resident of Jacksonville, FL. He was born on November 22, 1935 in Fort Monroe, Virginia to James and Dorothy Lash. He graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in Bethesda, Maryland and attended Gonzaga University and Columbia Basin College. In 1954, he joined the Air force where he played baseball winning a worldwide military championship. Following his military service with the Air Force he worked for the Department of the Navy Civil Service as an electrical engineer at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington. DC. In 1980 he moved to Kings Bay, Georgia to help design and construct the Navy Trident Nuclear Submarine Base. He later was transferred to the Mayport Naval Base where he retired in 1994. Don is survived by his three children, Brian, Greg, and Jennifer, two grandchildren, Ellie and Maia, and two siblings, Gerald from Hayes, Virginia and Penny from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Friday May 24, at the Jacksonville National Veteran's Cemetery.
