LEWIS Donna O. Lewis passed away peacefully in Gainesville, Florida on February 19, 2013. She was born on July 6, 1932 in Hartford, Illinois. She moved to Palatka in 1946 and graduated from Putnam High School in 1950. She worked several years in various positions for Hudson Pulp and Paper in Palatka. Donna was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Palatka for many years where she served as the church secretary and sang in the choir. She moved to Clewiston, Florida in 1964 when her husband accepted a position with United States Sugar Corporation. Her husband retired in 1990 and they moved to Gainesville, Florida. Donna enjoyed singing, traveling, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Adus Smith, father, Orval Oliver, and a brother, Bill Oliver who gave his life in the Korean Conflict in 1950. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, C.D. Doug Lewis, son, C.D. Chuck Lewis, Jr. (Cathy) of St. Cloud, daughter, Lisa A. Self (Mike) of Gainesville, adopted son, Adrian Gonzalez, Jr., of Hollywood, grandchildren, Michael H. Self, Jr., Charles Danny Lewis and Erin N. Lewis, niece, Sandra Lewis Wells (Mike), great-niece, Ashley Shyrock (Chad) and Amber Rife, great-nephew, Christopher Rife, cousins, Bill Oliver (Mildred) and Deanna Adams (Mike). Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 22, 2013 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel with Brother James R. Smith, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
