GEORGE ROGERS

ROGERS Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com George F. Rogers, Jr. Lt Col (ret. Marine Corps) passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at his home. George was born on April 16, 1929 in Salem, MA to George F. Rogers, Sr. and Katherine Muse Rogers. He was a graduate of the Catholic University in Washington, D.C. and received his Masters Degree from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA. George was a veteran of both the Korea and the Vietnam conflicts having served 33 years in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He greatly loved his large family and will be missed by his three dogs especially Carmen. He was predeceased by his parents and a son, Patrick O'Donnell. George is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Carol J. Rogers; daughters, Karri Benson, Diana Mathia and Sandy Merrit; son, Hugh O'Donnell; daughter-in-law, Alicia O'Donnell; sister, Phyllis Mollet; brother, Donald Rogers; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. A Celebration of the Mass will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11665 Ft. Caroline Rd, Jacksonville, FL. 32225. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in his memory to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. assisting the family.
