BRANNAN Harvey Lester Brannan, 78, went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born May 21, 1935 in Wichita Falls, TX and was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, FL. Harvey served in the U.S. Navy in the Aviation Unit where he retired as a Chief Petty Officer. Harvey went on to have a 20 year career with Jacksonville Electric Authority. Harvey s greatest love was for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and never met a stranger. He was also a faithful servant at Deermeadows Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Middleburg. Harvey loved to travel and one of his favorite destinations was Sanibel Island. He will truly be missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Carole Brannan of 53 years, daughter Brenda Johns (Brett), sons Troy Brannan (Tina); and Lester Brannan; five grandchildren: Justin Brannan, Robert Johns, Amy Brannan, Emily Johns, and Sarah Johns; and his sister Doris Kirkby (Jerry). The family received friends from 6:00 8:00 PM on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2013 (TODAY) at Deermeadows Baptist Church, 9780 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, FL.
