GRIFFITH Ralph Holmes Griffith Jr. , 87 of Jacksonville passed away Monday, March 4, 2013. Ralph was born on October 3, 1925 in Birmingham, AL to the late Ralph and Sarah Griffith. After Graduating from Landon in 1943 Ralph enlisted in the US Army Air Corps serving as an aerial navigator and later served the US Air Force with many flight missions from 1950 1953. He is an alumnus of Georgia Tech and Waynesburg University. He enjoyed travel, golf, bridge, painting and Civil War history. He owned his own company C&D Wholesale and became the president of the Purchasing Agents of Florida and the Construction Specifications Institute. A man of strong faith, he was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church serving on the council and a member of the Morocco Temple and Royal Order of Jesters. He was Preceded in death by his first wife, Aletha Crosby Griffith. He is survived by his wife, Betty Burnette Griffith; 2 Daughters: Chyrol H. Griffith Smith, (Herb) and Kendyl Lane Griffith; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Powell, (Mark), Justin Smith, Lane Henderson Joiner, (Brad); 1 great grandchild, Tate Powell; 3 stepdaughters, Brenda, Brooke, Billye and many friends who will dearly miss him. A celebration of Ralph s life will be 2pm Saturday, March 9, 2013 at St. Mark s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3976 Hendricks Avenue Jax., FL 32207 with Rev. Thomas S. Hanson, Celebrant.
