ROBERT CHEYNE

CHEYNE LCDR Robert H. Cheyne, Jr., USN (Ret), 83, of Middleburg, FL, passed away December 4, 2012. He was born on June 4, 1929 in Daytona Beach, FL to parents Robert and Florence Cheyne, Sr. Mr. Cheyne was a retired LCDR, having served his country in the United States Navy and had lived in the local area since 1974. He was an alumni member of Pi Kappa Phi; was a member of the Orange Park Elks Lodge and attended New Grace Church. Mr. Cheyne had been a Ham Radio Operator for over 50 years and spent time volunteering throughout Clay County and served as a Clay County Reserve Deputy Sheriff. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Patricia Cheyne; sons, Robert H. Cheyne, III, Charles Cheyne of Tennessee and Rob D. Cheyne (Tracey) of Orange Park, FL; daughter, Pamela L. Wagner (Mark) of Pelham, AL; sister, Jacqueline Boudreau of Norton, MA; cousins, Diane and Charles Thomae of Norton, MA; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 10, 2012 at New Grace Church, 5804 Hwy. 17, Fleming Island with The Rev. Tripp Prince officiating.
