THOMAS ANDERSON

ANDERSON Thomas James Anderson, 58, loving husband, father and grandfather, died Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Community Hospice of NE Florida in Jacksonville, FL. Tom was born in Newport, Rhode Island on December 22, 1953 to Thomas James ( Andy ) and Elizabeth ( Libby ) Anderson. He spent most of his life on the U.S. Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, having grown up there with his six siblings and later, he enjoyed several tours of civil service duty in Gitmo with his wife and children. Tom was a man known for his terrific sense of humor, zeal for life, strong work ethic - and a good Cuba Libre. Tom is predeceased by both of his parents, and sisters Cheryl Kubas and Carrie Bagwell. Tom is survived by his wife of almost 37 years, Debbi (Dorr) Anderson, whom he wed on December 20, 1975 in Beaufort, SC. He is also survived by his two loving daughters, Nicole Lee McConnell and Tiffany Marie Chandler; grandsons Dayton James McKee Anderson, Jason McConnell, Jr. and Noah McConnell; sisters Carol Watson, Corinne Fisher and Chris Senft; brother Steve Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure and good fortune of knowing him; the world was a better place for him having been in it. No time on earth is long enough to share with those we love or to prepare our hearts for good-bye. Arrangements made by Arlington Park Funeral Home. Viewing will be Monday, November 5, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 10:00am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 742 Arlington Road North, Jacksonville, FL; interment immediately following the service at Arlington Park Cemetery.
