KING Willard Albert King, devoted husband and father, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on June 25th, 2013 in Orange Park, FL. He was born in Thaxton, Virginia to the late Willard Anderson King and Virginia Wills King. The oldest of five siblings, Albert was preceded in death by Murrel B. King and Elizabeth King Frazier. Albert is survived by his wife, Edith Lacy King; daughter, Yvonne S. King; son, Willard A. King, Jr.; two brothers, Bobbie King and James E. King and their families, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was drafted into World War II while in high school and also fought in the Korean War. He served his country, honored with medals and citation, as an active duty soldier and civil servant to achieve 40 years of federal service. Albert's steadfast, patient, kind and generous nature as well as his sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral service will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Bedford, Virginia on Saturday, June 29th. Arrangements by Updike Funeral Home, Bedford, Virginia.
