BAKER William J. Baker Umpa , 90, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2013. Born in Lexington, KY. Bill was a resident of Johnstown, OH for most of his life, but had resided in Jacksonville since 2003. During his lifetime he proudly served his country in the US Army during WW II, and later became a member of the American Legion, Post 129. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bill is predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Alice Baker, and daughter Linda Irene Gilchrist (Larry). He is survived by his 2 daughters, Pam Sword (Jim) and Janice Smith (Ted), and his son Wayne Baker (Trish); 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; Jack (his cat); and other beloved family members. A Memorial Service will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 in the Earl B. Hadlow Center of Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
