GOTHARD William Allen Bill Gothard Jr., 82, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Mr. Gothard was born in Pineville, Kentucky, moving to Jacksonville after being wounded in the Korean War, being a U. S. Marine recipient of the Purple Heart. Bill was employed by the Miller Electric Company for 43 years. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by a grandson, Shawn. Bill is survived by his wife (his sweetheart) Nancy Ann; his children: Allen (Melinda), Cheryl (John), Elaine (Brian) and Beth (Danny); and his grandchildren: Stacy, Shannon, Jennifer, Ashley, Shane, Jason, Danielle, Brandon, Bradley & Matthew. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 22, in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave., with Rev. F. Ray Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 3 5 PM Sunday, April 21, at the funeral home. In Bill s final days, he wanted everyone to know that he was one bad ass Marine - Semper Fi-Oorah.
