WILLIAM HILLENBRAND

HILLENBRAND William Bill Hillenbrand passed away on July 30th at the Veteran's Nursing Home in St. Augustine. He was born in Chicago, IL. to Dr. John and Marion Hillenbrand and was one of seven children. He is survived by his wife Cay of 53 years, children: Cathy Pavich (Gary), Mark Hillenbrand (Kelly), and Donna Morrison (Mark). Three grandchildren: Nathan Pavich, Austin Pavich, and Grant Hillenbrand. Bill served during the Korean War. He was injured and received the Purple Heart. After being honorably discharged Bill graduated from DePaul University of Chicago and went on to work at Prudential for 28 years. As a parishioner of San Juan del Catholic Church, Bill was active in the Men's Club and Knights of Columbus. He was a friend to everyone he met, and known as a gentle giant. Services will be held August 24 at San Juan del Rio Catholic Church. There will be a visitation with the family at 10am, mass at 11am with internment at the columbarium, and a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
