Eloise Koerber Obituary

KOERBER Eloise Hagan Koerber, 63, passed away December 2, 2010 at her home in the loving arms of her family. Eloise was raised on Lookout Mountain, TN and lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for 22 years before moving to Atlantic Beach, FL in 1996. Eloise was an RN for 30 years, retiring from Mayo Clinic in March after 12 years of service. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Ross J. Koerber, her parents Frenchie and Bill Hagan, in-laws Ida Mae and Bill Koerber Sr., Bill Koerber Jr., Betty Eagle, Roger and Walter Koerber. Survivors include her sister Mary Hamler (Edward), nephews Lt. Col. Thomas Holliday(Jennifer), Bruce Hamler (Tami) and Christian Hamler, niece Heidi Hamler, great nieces and nephews Emily, Shannon and Thomas Holliday, Tucker Kobylka, Hannah and Skyler Hamler, first cousins Ella Kay Slagle and Henry Geiger (Betty Ann), sister-in-law Diana Sgrazzutti (James), brothers-in-law Richard (Betsy), Robert, Raymond, Ralph and Randall (Donna) Koerber, 20 nieces and nephews and 32 great nieces and nephews of the Sgrazzutti and Koerber families, and her surrogate family the Jenkins. Eloise was an intensely caring and devoted friend to so many others. Eloise served her community of Atlantic Beach as a member of the Cultural Arts Board, Parks and Recreation Board and Tree Board. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11th in Quinn-Shalz, A Family Funeral Home, Jacksonville Beach. In lieu of flowers, Eloise may be honored through donations to BEAM (Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry) 850 6th Avenue South, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 or Community Hospice of NE FL, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257. I miss you so much it hurts, and it hurts to know I haven't come to visit you for while. Your friendship meant so much to me and your presence was always treasured. To the dear friends & family that were blessed to have Eloise in their lives...know that our thoughts & prayers are with you through this difficult time. Eloise was a precious person and she will be missed dearly by our family -- and countless others I imagine. She was such a genuine, caring, woman who really made a difference in the lives of so many personally & professionally. I pray that your fond, happy memories of her will soon be a joy to recall, and that God will uphold you and strengthen you until then.
