EDWARD LUTH

LUTH Edward R. Luth, 87, passed away July 21, 2011 in Lexington, NC. Edward was born December 18, 1923 to John William Luth and Gertrude Marcella Schneider in St. Paul, MN. He moved to Jacksonville in 1971. Edward retired from NCR after 20 years and worked for SCI in a variety of positions for over 20 years. He was a parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church until he became a parishioner at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church 5 years ago. He was a Toastmaster and an avid organ player, attending every Saturday lesson at Keyboard Connections. He was very proud of his garden, which he kept neat, pristine and full of flowers throughout the year. Edward is predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Karen Luth and 3 siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Anngala Luth; children Thomas E. Luth (Sharon), Gerald G. Luth (Wilma), Kathryn M. Harter (Robert) and Dale J. Luth; grandchildren Eric, Greg, Steven, Tiffany, Gerriann, Ryan, Ben, Karmen and Kristin; great-grandchildren Taft, Tucker, Lucian and Kayla; brothers David Luth (Cece) and Van Luth (Jurene) and numerous other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Tuesday, July 26 at Chapel Hills Funeral Chapel, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. with a rosary service beginning at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held 11am Wednesday, July 27 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 10472 Beach Blvd. with Father Lam Nguyen officiating.
