ROBERT DAVIS

DAVIS Robert W. Davis, 91, passed away May 29, 2011 at Heartland Health Care Center. A native of Sanderson, FL, he had been a resident of this city for many years. He served his country in the US Army during WWII and was honorably discharged. He also retired from Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. His parents, Gilford and Rosetta W. Davis, sister, Pience, brothers, Lewis and Ralph, and son-in-law, Jim Taylor preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Kizzie Fish Davis; sons, George Worth Davis (Louise) and Johnny Davis (Sylvia); daughter, Betty Jo Taylor; grandchildren, George, Jr., Robert, Jerry, Laura, Bobbi, Lancy, Holly and Laura; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Harmon Davis, Louise Dinkins, Ruth Combs, Edith Young, Ila Taylor, J.J. Davis and Lester Davis. Visitation will be held at Old Plank Road Baptist Church, where he held membership, on Thursday, June 2, 2011, from 6 until 8PM. The funeral will be Friday, June 3, 2011, at 10:00 AM, at his church, with Pastor Larry McGinley officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Sanderson, FL.
