GRUBER Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com Rita Gruber, passed away May 17, 2011 at Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, FL. Rita was born on March 25, 1957 in Buffalo, NY. She was adopted in Buffalo, NY to Chester and Caroline Furgala. Rita was a very passionate and caring person. She was the sunshine in all the lives she touched. Rita loved the changing of the seasons and holidays. She would make baked goods and holiday creations for her family and friends. The best way to describe Rita is sweet, caring, stubborn and creative. Rita was a huge Eeyore fan, we have literally hundreds around our home watching over us, just like our two beagles, Poochie and Pretty Girl. The babies whose lives we saved from the pound and helped raise together. Rita received a College Degree in Medical Records. She also ran her own daycare business in Arcade New York. Rita was a Girl Scout Leader for over 20 years. Rita is survived by her loving husband of five years, Gary Gruber; daughter, Carrie McLaughlin; son, James McLaughlin, Jr.; mother, Caroline Furgala; brother, Chester Furgala, Jr. A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm, Monday, May 23 at Ponte Vedra Valley.
