Mary Arnold

ARNOLD Mrs. Mary Winbush Arnold passed away peacefully October 9, 2011. She was born in Ripley, TN. Furthering her education, she attended Tennessee State University earning a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and a Masters degree in Administration and Supervision was conferred at Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. Mrs. Arnold was employed with the Harvey School District #147as an Asst. Principal at Martin Luther King Junior High and Principal at Lincoln Elementary Schools until retiring with over 30 years of dedicated service. Other affiliations include Alpha Kapa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the Red Hat Society. She was predeceased by her husband, Byron Arnold; son, Robert Redderick; both parents, Isaac Winbush and Mrs. Ganelle Nelson Winbush; and brothers, Robert and Harold Winbush. Survivors include her grandchildren, Detrick Green (Monica) and Ms. Tamiko Hobbs; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Nelson W. Winbush; sister, Mrs. Dorothy Jean Reeves; a host of other relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1 PM, Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church of Pine Mountain, GA, where she held membership, Rev. Edward Landrum, Pastor. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends are asked to assemble at the church under the direction of MORGAN'S FUNERAL HOME, 418 N. 12TH Ave., Lanett, AL, 334/644-4064.
