MARTHA HORTER Obituary

HORTER Martha C. Horter, 104, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2011 at home with her daughter by her side. Martha, was born in Newark, New Jersey to Paul and Marie Chester on Feb 5, 1907. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry A. Horter and her nine brothers and sisters. Martha is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise Hurt and many loving nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Friday, June 17, 2011 at Oaklawn Cemetery. A reception will be held at the home of Alan and Erin Shirley just 2 doors down from Mary Lous home immediately following the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hendricks Ave Baptist Church Building Fund or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. Dear Horter Family, I was priviliged to be friends with Martha and Mary Lou over the past 8 years. Martha had such a sunny air about her which enhanced everyone around her. I will miss her.
