Beatrice J. Goldsmith Obituary
GOLDSMITH
It is with a heavy heart that we are saying goodbye to our beloved mother, Beatrice J. Goldsmith. She passed away on June 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Jacksonville, FL on March 11, 1936. From the moment Bea was born, she was off and running. She was full of zest and had an enthusiasm for life and there was never a dull moment when you were in her presence. Bea's family and numerous friends were always her primary focus. She took great pleasure in entertaining, traveling around the world and hosting get-togethers.
Bea attended Landon High School and University of Florida. She later became an event planner with her dear friend, Bobbi Yoffee, when they formed Bea and Bobbi. She then became a marketing director with several local travel agencies where she developed her love of travel. Together with her husband, they visited more than 70 countries.
Bea was a lifelong member of Congregation Ahavath Chesed and Hadassah. Bea was predeceased by her parents, Abe and Shirley Chardkoff and is survived by her husband, Dr. Josh Samli; children, Karen (George) Kingston, Cindy Silverberg, Judy Reed, Alan (Mary) Schlossman and Keith (Angie) Goldsmith; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara (Harold) Rabhan.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Evergreen Temple Cemetery, gate 5 with Rabbi Elizabeth Bahar, officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Ahavath Chesed, Jacksonville Jewish Center or River Garden Hebrew Home.
