Obituary Condolences

FILARDO Charmaine Gibson Filardo, age 82, passed away on September 20, 2012 after a long battle with dementia. Surviving are her son, James E. Graves and his partner Tammy Hawkins of Jacksonville and stepson, Jim Harris of Jacksonville and his family. Charmaine also leaves behind numerous friends in Jacksonville and Winter Haven, and her precious cats, Kit, Callie and Tinker. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred Harris, Grandmother Edith Smith and parents Thomas & Lorraine Gibson. Charmaine dedicated her life to children first as an elementary school teacher and later as a guidance counselor in Polk County, Florida. Her greatest gifts were her love god, family, life and a kind spirit. She loved music and especially dancing. She will long be remembered and missed by all that were blessed to have crossed her path. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 4-6 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be Tuesday the 25th in Lakeside Memorial Park, in Winter Haven, Fl. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in her memory be made to either the Humane Society or First Coast no more homeless pets.
