Curtis Adams Obituary
ADAMS Mr. Curtis Adams, 94, of 6141 Leontyne Price Ct., passed away peacefully September 15, 2010 in a local hospital. He was a native of Doughlas, GA, having resided in Jacksonville most of his life. Mr. Adams was a member at Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Other affiliations include member of the Male Choir, Layman Brotherhood and Manager of the Heavenly Echo's Singers. He was employed with Central Truck Line until he retired after 35 years of dedicated service. Survivors include his children, Charlie L. Barlow (Angie), Mrs. Ethel M. Hillsman (Eddie, Jr.), Mrs. Evelyn James-Childs (Ralph A.) and Ms. Deborah Lewis; sister, Mrs. Bernice Zimmerman; brother, Roy Adams (Carrie); 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Eunice Smith, Cordele, GA and Mrs. Essie Bell Adams; devoted nephews, Rev. William Huggins and Roy A. Admas; a number of other nieces, nephews, cousins, caregivers, Ms. Gloria Ellison (adopted daughter), Ms. Jackie Travis and Jennifer Stevens; other relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM, Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Clifford Johnson, Pastor. Mr. Adams will rest in the mortuary for visitation Wednesday from 5 PM until 8PM (where the family will receive friends at 5PM), and Thursday at the church.
