I will always remember Mr. Doggett. I can't think of anyone who didn't learn something from him. I would love to listen to him recite poetry, he was wonderful. My condolences to the family.

Mr. Doggett was my Fletcher H.S. principal in 1951. A man we all respected. My condolences to the family.

We are two of many Fletcher graduates who know and appreciate the outstanding educational opportunity that Mr. Doggett made possible. He made a great difference in the lives of many people.

I will forever remember Mr. Doggett checking the halls of Fletcher for students to see if they, we had a hall pass.
He introduced me to a childhood friend of his named Pat Frank, a best selling author of fiction. I have been a reader from that time.
His school was a pleasant, safe place for students to go.

Just last night, as I have done hundreds of times before, I regaled a group of writers about Mr. Doggett and his reading to the students at Fletcher, his renown as a Stevens scholar, his love of language, his generosity in giving me some treasured little magazines, and how in our midst for so many years we had such a prize in his presence. He and Dorothy contributed more to our community than any single one of use could ever know. He led the true life of mind and had a heart of gold. He is looking down on us now, pleased with the result of his work in seeing so many souls likewise in love with the written and spoken word.

Reading the news of Mr. Doggetts death brought many fond memories of my years at D.U.F. Can't think of my high school days without images of Mr. Doggett walking those halls, most often dressed in his coat and tie, and setting the standard for the entire school. I know the family will miss his being with you, but it may be soothing to reflect on all the youth he had a positive effect on when walking those halls.
