Obituary Condolences

CARRICK J. Theresa Carrick, 83, passed away on January 5, 2013 in her home in Jacksonville. After successfully battling breast cancer for more than 10 years, she went to be with the Lord. Theresa was born on February 10, 1929 in Worcester, MA. Theresa moved to Jacksonville in 1948 and spent most of her life in our community. She worked for many years as a medical assistant, retiring from Dr. David Sooriash at the age of 72. David and his wife Linda were special people to Theresa. She was a faithful member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church for the majority of her life and most recently the San Jose Catholic Church. Theresa was a fan of NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon, QVC, gardening and cooking. An 83-year old mother of five, she epitomized the role of MOM . She is survived by daughters, Elaine Koch (Ken), Carol Blair, Charlene Conner (Lawton), Kathleen Thomas (Randy) and son, Grady Carrick (Carla). Theresa loved her 12 grandchildren that range in ages from 1 to 41, as well as her 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is predeceased by her mother, Yvonne Saucier and her brothers, Aldore (Joseph), Roland, and Clarence Saucier. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9th with Vigil Prayers at 7:00 p.m. in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10th in St. Joseph's Historic Church, 4152 Loretto Rd. Jacksonville, with Father Bernard Ahern as Celebrant, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
