Poppa you're gone & today was your services. There's some things I would like to say. You are the father I received the day I married your son. "The One" that I had been waiting for was "The One" who is your son. You raised & loved him with guiding hands & gave him strength. I just want you to know I am proud to be your daughter-in-law. Thank you for welcoming me into your family.
Exactly two months ago today you were very much alive & now it's hard to believe you are gone. I think of you with much respect & admiration. Thank you for the times we shared in the recent years. Perhaps we'll never understand one another..... And I'm sorry about the the miles & distance between us for so many years. The thing I'll miss the most is the way you looked forward to & enjoyed your grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Oh and the way you enjoyed the outdoors.
Knowing the love you had for life. It broke my heart to see you suffering & in such pain... The way you had to fight to breath. The last battle couldn't be won & you had to let go.
The amazing people that visited you & brought food. Even after you passed. Each & every person spoke about how you were always so quick to lend a helping hand. There are so many family, friends & neighbors that Love You & will Miss You. All we have are memories & your picture in a frame. We will miss you & forever keep you in our hearts! Wezzie & Andy

To all of you we know, and those we don't, we will also mourn the loss of Sam. We had some great times with him up in Baxley and will always remember his humor and the stories he shared with us. He was indeed "bigger than life" and we loved him. Chip, Debi & Calvin
