John Gemery Obituary

GEMERY Funeral services for John Gemery, 89, will be held 1PM Saturday, May 5, 2012 in the chapel at JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors. John was born on December 24, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA. He went home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2012 in Jacksonville, FL surrounded by his family. John served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII, The Korean Conflict, and The Vietnam War, and retired after 27 years of decorated service. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 7909 and the American Legion Post 137. John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Juanita Gemery; two daughters, Jinnie L. Gemery, and Faye McDearmon (Mike); two sons, John Lee Gemery, and James David Gemery; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday (TODAY) from 5PM-7PM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home. John, aka John John was a very dear friend of mine of many years. I just found out he passed, so I was unable to attend his services. He will be extremely missed not only by me and my husband, but many other people who cared and loved him. My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

I did not personally know Mr. Gemery, but I have known his wonderful, giving, and caring daughter, Jinnie, for many years. I express my deep condolences to the family, and especially to Jinnie, a star of that heroic and loving family. May God rest John's soul for his triumphs for serving our United States, and for the goodness of his family.
