ALEXANDER Joseph Jonas Alexander was born in Piedmont, Alabama on May 21, 1921. He was the seventh of eight children born to James Mack Alexander and Denie Boozer Alexander. He was preceded in death by his parents and six of his siblings: Sallie, Joseph, James, Chester, Thomas and William. He departed this life in Jacksonville, Florida early Monday morning, February 4, 2008. His numerous friends and relatives best knew Joseph as “Pete.” His step-grandchildren gave him the nickname “Big Poppa.” Funeral services will be Friday, February 8th at 11am at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church.
