June Kennison Obituary

KENNISON June Dupree Kennison, 79, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 6, 2011. She was a very devout Christian woman who lived her life totally surrendered to God and her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and mentor to many. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Loved ones include: her husband of 59 years, Rev. Louis H. Kennison, Jr., 5 children; Carter Kennison (in Heaven), David (Debbie) Kennison, Kelly (Mark) Price, Daniel (Terri) Kennison and Kim Honsberger; 9 grandsons; 2 granddaughters, 6 great-grandsons; 5 great-granddaughters; 2 brothers, Drew (Marilyn) Dupree and Chandler Dupree. God built a ministry in Louis and June that has touched the lives of many and led countless souls to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Their legacy will continue to reach others. The family will receive friends at Franklin Street Baptist Church, 2521 Franklin St. Sunday, January 9 from 2:00 until 3:00 PM. At 3:00 PM a Memorial Service will begin with Pastor Terry Gore and Rev. Mark Price officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday, January 10 at 10:00 AM at Pineview Cemetery in Folkston, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those desiring join with Samaritan's Purse by making donations in June's memory to P. O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

We will always cherish the loving memories of her. A brilliant light in the darkness and a delightful person. She'll be sorely missed. We will always hold her dear to our hearts and never forget the life lessons she taught with the way she lived her life.

My heartfelt sympathy is extended to the Kennison family. Miss June was a graceful and Godly woman. She influenced my life tremendously when I was young and not always on the right path. She is missed by all of us but has taken her place with the that great cloud of witnesses. Annice and I recently spoke to her and she was always such a joy to see.
