Obituary Condolences

TODD Mr. Larry Dale Todd, age 59, of Yulee, former longtime resident of North Jacksonville, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, at the McGraw Center for Caring in Jacksonville. Born in Evansville, Indiana, he was one of three sons born to Ben and Sue McGuire Todd. Growing up in Evansville, he was a graduate of F.J. Rietz High School, Class of 1970. In 1972, he married his high school sweetheart, Khelia O. Farley. Mr. Todd served in the U.S. Army until being honorably discharged in the late 1970s. After his discharge he and his family left the cold climate in search of a warmer locale; settling in North Jacksonville. Mr. Todd worked as a Pipefitter with the Plumber's and Pipefitter's Union, Local No. 234, until his health required his retirement in 2005. Approximately 10 years ago, he and his wife moved to Yulee. Mr. Todd loved his family, his job and his coworkers. He and his family have been longtime members of the North Jacksonville Baptist Church. Mr. Todd is preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Todd, who passed away in 2010. He leaves behind, his wife of 40 years, Khelia O. Todd, Yulee, FL, their son, Travis Todd (Kristy), Asheville, NC, their daughter, Priscilla Cowan (Ryan), Jacksonville, FL, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Todd, Evansville, IN, a brother, Mark Todd, Evansville, IN and two grandchildren, Reagan and Kennedy. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the North Jacksonville Baptist Church, Jacksonville, with Dr. Herb Reavis, Jr., officiating. Mr. Todd will be laid to rest at 2:00 pm on Thursday in the Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military honors. His family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Oxley Heard Funeral Home, Fernandina Beach, FL.
