Maggie (Hilliard) Thurston, 57, died peacefully with her loving family by her side, Monday, April 8, 2013, at Shands Cancer Center, Gainesville, FL. She was born in Hartford, CT on March 7, 1956, the daughter of Douglas and Doris (Anderson) Hilliard. She is a graduate of Conard High School, class of 1974. She earned an Associate Degree in Design at Endicott College in Beverly, MA. as well as an Associate of Science in Printing and Graphic Arts at Florida Jacksonville College (currently FCCJ). She married Thomas T. Thurston in West Hartford, CT in 1980. They made their home in Jacksonville, FL. Maggie was a Graphic Artist at St. Johns Plant, Duplex Products (currently WorkflowOne) from 1981 through 2009. In addition, she was a Princess House Consultant for the past ten years. She was an active member of Agape Baptist Church, joyfully participating in activities with her children. She participated in the 's Cure de Tour, twice as a rider and once on the support van to raise funds for diabetes research. Survivors include her husband, Thomas of Jacksonville; six children, Shauna Thurston McClinnham of Jacksonville, FL, Meryl Thurston Harvey of Queens, NY, Thomas M., Christopher D., Dylan D. and Katelyn D. Thurston of Jacksonville, FL; four siblings, Evelyn Schroter of Joplin, MO, Beth Fontana of Tampa, FL, Russell Hilliard of Lake George, NY and Lois Hilliard of West Hartford, CT. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be celebrated Saturday, April 20 at 10 a.m. at Agape Baptist Church on Old Middleburg Road in Jacksonville. The family would like to thank the staff at Shands Cancer Center for their loving and thorough care over the past several months as well as many loving friends and family members for their support.
