Obituary Condolences

ADAMS Mrs. Mary Frances Doby Adams, age 76, of 6839 Restlawn Dr. passed away peacefully December 19, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, attended local schools in Duval County, graduating from Stanton Senior High School - Class of 1948. Mrs. Adams was a faithful member of Summerville Baptist Church for seventy years. Other affiliations include serving as Sunday School Superintendent for 25 years, Missionary Society, Choir and Pallbearers Lodge # 91. She was employed with Duval County School Board as a Teacher's Aide until she retired after 20 years of dedicated service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Adams, Sr. and daughter, Frances Sharlene Deas. She is survived by 10 children, Richard Jr., (Catherine), Frank ( Valerie), Henry ( Mamie) Eric Wendell and William Elliott Adams, Mrs. Jacqueline Israel ( Freddie), Mrs. Alma Surrency ( Leonard) Mrs. Cathy Johnson ( David) Mrs. Sherrolyn Shearer ( Richard ) and Mrs. Cindy Jackson ( Rechard) ; 1 brother, Elder Willie Ferrell (Margaret) ; 24 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 4 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers -in-law; cousins and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Emanuel Baptist Church, 2407 Division St., Rev. Herb Anderson, Pastor, with Rev. James W. Henry, Pastor of Summerville Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Adams will rest in the mortuary for visitation of friends MONDAY from 5 PM until 8 PM ( where the family will receive friends at 5 PM) and Tuesday at the church from 9 AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery. The cortege will assemble at the residence under the direction of ALPHONSO WEST MORTUARY, INC., 4409 Soutel Dr. 766-9671.
