Patricia Keenan

KEENAN Patricia Keenan 61 of Fernandina Beach, Fl., passed away Saturday June 4, 2011 in Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville, Fl. A native of Findlay, Ohio, she was the daughter of Vaughn and Bertha Now. She grew up in Massilion, Ohio and graduated from Jackson Memorial High School, Class of 1968. She enrolled and graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she received her Bachelor of Science and her Masters Degrees. She taught reading in grades K-12. She moved to Columbia, SC and taught in the South Carolina Prison System. Moving here in 1996, she graduated from University of North Florida with a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. She spent her near 40 year career in reading and special education. She was the Special Education Coordinator for the Camden County School System for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed her home and the old oak trees with their Spanish moss; the wild animals and the coastal marshes. She was an avid cruising boater and loved being on the water. She held a special place in her heart for her many close friends and family who supported her throughout her life. She was a member of the Frist Presbyterian Church. She leaves behind her husband of 15 years, Tom Keenan; her parents, Vaughn and Bertha Now of Massilion, OH ; her son, Mark Delp (McKenna) of Chillicother, OH; her daughter, Amanda Brown (Robert) of Powell, OH; her sisters Diana Jones (Lawrence) of Massilion, OH and Sharon Now of Canton, OH; her brothers, David E. Now of Somerville, OH. and Joe M. Now of Eloy, AZ; her two 15 moth old granddaughters, Cameron Delp and Sophia Brown and two nieces and her Best Friends Forever Gayle and Buddy Kellum. Her sister Carol Now passed away in 1984. Services will be held on Tuesday at 4 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach with Sr. Bruce Lancaster, officiating.
