PAUL BURTON Obituary

BURTON Capt. Paul Burton, 83, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011 as a result of an accident at his Yulee, FL residence. He was born February 14, 1928 in Jacksonville, FL and moved to Yulee 40 years ago. He was a Korean War veteran serving with the U. S. Army. Capt. Burton also served with the Merchant Marine Maritime Service and was a member of the VFW in Fernandina Beach. He was a member of the Iron Worker's Local Number 597 and the Machinist Union. He was a man of good humor and never met a stranger. He was a devoted husband, father and brother in law and was also a devoted blood donor. Capt. Burton was predeceased by a son, Scott Deming who passed away in 2006. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Annette Burton, of Yulee, FL; two sons, Curtis Deming and his wife, Dena of Green Cove Springs and Wesley Deming of Yulee, FL; 13 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many friends. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Green Pine Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Freeman officiating. So very sorry to learn of Capt Paul's untimely passing. Had the honor processing his membership for the VFW and very much looked forward to his visits to the Post. He will be missed.
