Obituary Condolences

NEWMAN Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com Paul K. Ken Newman, M.D., 81, passed away on August 30, 2013. He was born in Neptune, NJ to the late Edward Alston and Beatrice Burns Newman. Ken was a graduate of Bucknell University and Temple University School of Medicine. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War as a corpsman and during the Vietnam War as a physician in a M.A.S.H. unit in the Mekong Delta. He served as Chief of Anesthesiology at the Naval Air Station Jacksonville. Subsequently he served as an Anesthesiologist at Baptist Medical Center and later at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, FL. After retirement, he was active with the Navy League and traveled extensively throughout North America with his wife, Audrey. Ken was a devoted family man and a proud patriot. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Audrey M. Newman, he was survived by his children, Linda N. Puente (Tony), Deborah C. Newman, and Paul Kenneth Newman, Jr. (Kelly); 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, as well as numerous family members and friends. A Celebration of Ken's Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 in Christian Family Chapel, 10365 Old St. Augustine Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257. Memorial Contributions may be made in Ken's name to Christian Family Chapel, Wounded Warrior Project, or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
