PHYLLIS BAUMAN Obituary

BAUMAN Phyllis R. Bauman 85 of Jacksonville passed away Thursday evening, May 12, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Born in New York City she was one of 8 children. She and her husband Frank of 56 years moved to Jacksonville so he could serve in the Naval Reserves during the Korean War. They eventually started and kept a bookkeeping and tax service in the Arlington area for more than 35 years until they retired. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank V. Bauman, her parents Thomas & Rose as well as her brothers Tony, Joe, Gene and her sister Mae. Phyllis and Frank were two of the founding members of Christ the King Catholic Church where she proudly served in many ministries and capacities within the church and school over the years. She remained very active with the church until her health began to fail. She is survived by her two sons Tom (Lynn) & Greg. Grandchildren Taylor & Tanner as well as her brothers Jimmy, Tommy and Frankie. Phyllis will be missed by all and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother & friend as well as a woman of tremendous faith. There will be a visitation where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 18th at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Boulevard. This will include a Vigil Service beginning at 6:00. The funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 19th at 9:00 A.M. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 742 Arlington Road N. Internment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fl. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials contributions be made to Northeast Florida Community Hospice. We just found out about the loss of your Mom. She was such a good and faithful woman. She loved you so much and I will never forget her being part of the village on Leafy Lane that helped to shape the lives of all of us. On behalf of the Damato family please accept our deepest sympathy.
