Richard Pipitone Obituary

PIPITONE Richard A. Pipitone, 74, passed away Friday evening, May 28, 2010 at the Community Hospice Morris Center in Jacksonville. Mr. Pipitone was born October 9, 1935 in Flushing, New York and moved to Jacksonville, FL 37 years ago from Los Angeles, CA. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving seven years and was a member of the Jacksonville Gun Club. Mr. Pipitone was a certified general contractor in Jacksonville for 35 years. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Ashley Renee Taylor, who passed away in 2007. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Pipitone of Jacksonville, FL. They would have been married 36 years on June 15. Also surviving are two sons, Jacob Pipitone (Tonya) of Jacksonville, FL and Richard Esposito of Sandy, OR; two daughters, Teresa Zullo (Kenneth) of Waxhaw, NC and Lisa Edwards of Jacksonville, FL; his mother, Ann Esposito, of San Tee, CA; a sister, Linda Gregory (Fred) of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Dr. Marsha Rano officiating. Shirley & Jacob, I'm very sorry for your loss, Rick was my mentor in the carpetry trade and a very common sense individual that I admired and I'm sorry I haven't communicated him in recent years. His devotion to family was and is an inspiration to me as that's where I am now. Fred Cruess
